What we do

Wilderness Capital Corporation was formed to address the urgent challenges of climate change, using the environmental and economic value of natural assets to benefit local communities and meet a growing market opportunity to support net zero emission economies.

Preserving Nature

The world’s forests, wetlands, grasslands and oceans sustain all forms of life on our planet. Natural assets have been monetized for centuries as a resource for extraction and consumption.

Generating
Co-Benefits

Our carbon credit projects result in multiple economic and social co-benefits that support rural, remote and Indigenous communities in Canada and across the world.

The avoided release of natural carbon stores will result in immediate and long-term reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. Protecting carbon-rich, biodiverse areas such as old growth forests will help us meet global climate objectives and the commitments by G7 countries to protect 30% of land and ocean by 2030.

Wilderness Capital works with all stakeholders to protect or restore previously exploited natural assets. In addition to the environmental benefits of avoided deforestation and preservation of our natural carbon reserves, our carbon credit projects result in multiple economic and social co-benefits that support rural, remote and Indigenous communities in Canada and across the world.

Wilderness Capital Corporation builds innovative portfolios of natural assets by creating and acquiring high quality, verifiable stored carbon projects.

Historically, the economic value of natural assets has been tied to resource extraction such as forestry, oil and gas extraction, mineral extraction and fishing. These revenue streams have provided a significant income to various stakeholders, supporting local economies.

With the threat of climate change, it is clear that resource extraction cannot continue at its current pace. To achieve climate goals and support sustainable economies, it is critical to find new revenue streams that maximize both the value and protection of our natural assets.

As the value of stored carbon increases so will the demand from institutional, corporate and retail investors who are seeking to meet rising environmental, social and governance standards through the purchase of carbon credits.

The Wilderness Capital team develops carbon products that create economic opportunities for stakeholders and investors, and portfolio diversification for asset managers. Our goal is to develop a "carbon vault" of natural assets that will provide ongoing economic growth for shareholders and investors.
